December 2012 Photo Challenge ENTRY thread

In an attempt to get some interest back in the Challenge threads, I have set an easy theme that is quite fitting with the time of year. The topic for this month is COLD. With the frosty mornings at the moment, there's no excuse to not get out and enter a photo! Of course, all interpretations of the theme are welcome, i.e. a cold look or stare, or a photo with a particularaly cold color scheme to it, etc. Let your imagination go wild!
Remember, this is the 'Challenge', so shots must be taken in December and specifically for the challenge.
As usual, the rules:
The photos taken must be your own work
The shot MUST be taken this month, with the closing date being midnight on the last day of the Challenge month
The exif must be posted with your shot
The competition will run from the first to the last day of the month
The winner from the previous month decides on the topic for following month and judges it at the end of the month
The Challenge for next month should be generic, as not everyone has access to zoom, macro, specialist lenses. It should be shots that everyone is capable of achieving with the bare essentials.
There will be two threads that need starting: The Entries thread to commence same time as Discussion thread. In the Entries thread only one picture should be entered. Any others you wish to discuss should be posted in the Discussion thread.
All entrants acknowledge that they may indeed win and that their adherence to convention ensures everyone else's continued fun.
Photos entered should be no bigger than 750 pixels wide for a landscape photo and 600 pixels high for a portrait photo. Some people still have black and white tellies, and use these stupid 3G phone things for browsing the interweb. Links to larger versions are permissible.

Sorry for the delay in judging. I am away on holiday and internet access is limited. I also wanted to get access to a PC so I could view the images properly to do them all justice rather than having to use my phone to pick a winner.
Picking a winner was extremely tough, such was the quality and number of entries. I did have to disqualify Rich1888's entry though as the rules state the image must be from the challenge month. It's nice to see a popular challenge thread again; lets hope it continues.
So in joint third place: Kermit Power and Speed addicted
I liked both of these and couldn't place one above the other so there is a tie for third.
In second place: Colin RedGriff
But, the winner is: RobbieKB
Everything about this photo shouted 'Cold' to me; from the cold colours to the frosty grass. I love the composition and the great use of DoF. A brilliant photo and a worthy winner in my opinion.
So, thanks to everyone who entered, and it's over to you RobbieKB for January.

Even though you judged your own entry to be crap, I liked it, as did the person I enlisted for second opinions. This was the sort of shot I had envisaged for the challenge, and the frozen cobwebs give a suitably cold and eerie feel.Speed addicted said:
A lovely sunset shot and a proper cold, wintery landscape. The only slight negative that stopped it being placed higher, for me, was that it is a touch dark and could perhaps benefit from slightly bumping up the exposure of the foreground in PP. What I liked best about this photo was the bokeh effect on what are presumably Christmas lights in the background. Combine that with good lighting of the Ice in the foreground and it's a cracking shot.But, the winner is: RobbieKB
