I have a roadhawk fitted to my car and it gets the job done well,my only concerns is the quality of the picture capture of the number plate,have a look on youtube I have put a few incidents on from various happenings whilst driving around and about for fun,two of them are done in HD from a cheaper camera which has better quality of picture,the Roadhawk has a few more features like GPS and speed trace,look under Stefluc7738 see what you think you could also look at the reviews on there by Techmoan he does quite a few different price and range of cameras.

Sorry for double post - Can I ask I forgot the name of the xenta as i was typing so just re-read it to get the name again - have you had it long and do you use it a lot?
I am hoping that I can turn my car on 6 days a week and it just starts up - but dont want it breaking after a month.

That's quite good. Which model is that? And how much do they cost? Oh, and do you have to have trailing wires or do they come with rechargeable battery packs? I quite like the idea of one...http://youtu.be/VxamZXROPZI

It's the same one which Papa Hotel linked to at the start of the thread. I think I paid £30 from 7dayshop.com but it was six months ago. It has got an inbuilt battery which recharges but I have mine connected to the cigarette lighter all of the time so I don't know how long it would last on battery. I have routed the wire round the edge of the windscreen. That video is quite smooth ive been reading more yesterday and have seen some really poor quality ones. The green grass there is actually green instead of grey.
Number plates are a bit blurred though. I may have to think of upping the budget a touch. Lifespan of the camera is key to me really.
