Hi

Has anybody every wondered why the factory never fitted Air bags. Some of you may say it was due to cost, or because the idea was to techincal!

But I have come across a vid of I believe the factory doing some testing to see how they will work!

Hi Andy,
Following those tests at the TVR secret research facility,
Smolenski decided not to pursue the idea, considering it would be too much
of a pain in the acensorede

Loads of people were asking the same question.

"Why is this car not fitted with an airbag?"

I think it was Peter Wheeler or TVR themselves who replied "Well don't crash it then!"

I will try to find the clip out.

Regards
Simon

Wheeler's idea was that in a convertible should it roll the airbag pops the head back into a position of danger (i.e you can't duck!) However that never quite explained why they were never put in a Cerbera.

Last phrase kind of says it all... he believed that all of his cars were safer without than with airbag...

It did look like a rather extreme way to induce haemorrhoids.
