Hi guys, I'm just posting to see if anybody has any info / advice regarding the book in my title.

My grandad died earlier this year and while clearing through his stuff we discovered this quite lovely book on Bugatti.

It was a bit of a surprise as he was never really that into cars / Motorsport, the thing is we are not really sure what to do with it?

A quick google search seems to suggest it may be worth a few quid and as its not exactly something my nan is going read it seems a shame to leave it gathering dust in a cupboard.

I have included some pics below:

So as I said earlier do we sell it or keep as a good piece of memorabilia and if we do decide to sell it were is best eBay or some speciality bookshop / website?

Can't see the images, but try Pooks Motor Books on http://www.pooksmotorbooks.co.uk/

(No connection, but they are one of the most well known dealers - you could also try Chaters on http://www.chaters.co.uk/).

And yes, it is a rare, valuable book! Unfortunately I can only raise 50 quid, so I'm out!

Let me get this right, you're a car enthusiast, your grandad has a rare car book, you're thinking of selling it!?

Why not offer to become the custodian of an important family heirloom and pass it down through your family. Remember your Grandad and treasure having such a rare and interesting book.

Here's one on Amazon for £750, and here's a damaged one for €350. I'd hold on to it if I were you.

It's a nice thing to have.

And if he wants to sell it for £750 quid why shoudn't he?

Who are we to judge him on such a thing?

Absolutely, it's his book and he can do what he wants with it. I'm just saying that if I had come across a book that rare and nice, I'd hold on to it.

It's called a public forum, we get to offer all sorts of opinion. So long as we're not insulting then I believe we are able to offer opinion.

I know nothing about it, but it looks gorgeous and I'd hang onto it..

ETA - I'm now thinking the book's case has its own Bugatti chassis number?! eek

The site to go to for rare books is AbeBooks.
They show 4 copies of Bugatti Magnum for sale ranging from £405-£578.
I volunteer in a charity bookshop, and we price our unusual stuff at ABE minus 10%-20%, using e-bay, amazon or ABE.

got to b honest unless 500/750 really is a big deal I'd keep the book as a happy memory (and no I'm not loaded by any stretch of the imagination)
