Looking to buy a second car but insurance is silly.

We have a 2011 Astra as our main car, and its only £450 a year, but because I can't apply my no claims to a second car the insurance prices are daft.

Is there a way to get the insurance cheaper? I only want to do about 5k miles.

At the minute I have two MGs on classic car policies which has been ideal, but I might want to buy something other than an MG this time.

I spoke to my broker (rather than on line malarky). They mirrored my no claims, no problem.

You can put other brands of cars other than MGs on classic policies! wink Even some relatively recent cars can be put on limited mileage 'classic' policies.

MX5, Boxster, 911, Z3M, VW T25 Camper? I have known all to be insured on classic policies - depends on your budget and what you want from the car? I had my MX5 insured on a classic policy from Performance Direct (limited mileage to 1500 miles). Currently have my VW camper on classic policy limited to 2500 miles.

Easy to do through the usual comparethesupermarket sites.....

Mustang - take your pick

'99 Pontiac TransAm (there's a lovely looking gold one in Classic American for c.7500k)... ahhh didn't notice budget frown

mid-80s Camaro IROC-Z

I'd suspect that you could get a 2+2 300Z on a classic policy too....
