Drive Flange Play

Anyone know what the 'normal' amount of play in an early 996 gearbox drive flanges is? Mine has a pretty decent amount in the offside flange - just wondering if this is normal or if it's the cause of my on-going clonk!

Id hate it if I found play in the flange

Flange play has to be expected as they get a bit older though. Usually starts with a puff of air on full-lock.

What size shaft you running, sounds like it's not upto the job.
