I am looking at cheap TomTom one V1,2,3, 710 etc...to fit on my bike stem for a trip to the middle of France next year.

I have found all I need from RAM to fit it to the bike's stem and plug it on my Optimate plug. I know (I think) how to create an itn file from google maps made of interesting roads but I was wondering if any old satnav system was able to accept the created maps. Especially those with SD cards memory. Do you just fit a bigger card?

On another note, any good ressource to create itinerary and converters are welcome. I found a few things online but any well known, easy and reliable site is welcome.

Cheers.

TYRE

Trace your route everywhere is THE programme for creating itineries. ITN is the tom-tom format, something else for Garmin. TYRE will export either format on demand.
New tom-toms suck as they now won't accept itinery files (I think the "rider" model is still ok though.

Hope this helps

Thanks Jim. TYRE is one of the program I found.

I do intend to use an older TomTom bought cheap of ebay so I should be ok.
