Anyone turbochargered the Elise w/Toyota motor ?
Discussion
Blitz certainly make a supercharger kit for the Toyota 2zz-ge engine which is fitted to the Elise.

However, whilst it no doubt fits well in the Celica application, I doubt it would fit in the Elise engine bay without extensive mods to at least the rear clam. In fact, IIRC, the manifolds are also significantly different, and the ECU would need to be remapped, as on the 111r, the engine management is Lotus programmed, and doesn't use standard Toyota settings. I would imagine these difficulties make the Blitz kit an impractical proposition for the Elise.
I've not heard of a turbo kit (as opposed to blower)for the 2zz-ge, but I'm sure someone will correct me if there is one.
I would wait for Lotus to come up with power upgrades for the 111r/Exige. No doubt they are cooking up something!

Lotus are working on an upgrade over the winter to be released as a retrofit in Spring/Summer. No figeres yet on power or price.
Interesting!
I wonder what they are up to? I was chatting to my dealer today, and he was saying that Lotus (understandably IMHO) play their cards close to their chests in terms of future products, so as not to tip-off competitors. Do you have any more info, Fish? Feel free to email me if you would prefer. I would not be surprised to see some form of normally-aspirated power upgrades, perhaps using bits from the TRD parts bin. However, in terms of a "factory" supercharged engine, I would tend to see this in a new model rather than as a retrofit-able kit for the 111r/S2 Exige. If you look at the Blitz kit, check out the size of the intercooler - where's that going to go? I would anticipate that a completely-reworked thermal control solution would be needed to cope with the extra heat. It's not as if they can put many more air intakes/exhausts in

TTE (european version of TRD) do a turbo that adds around 60bhp plus a shed load of midrange.
If you have a 111r, a 3SGTE engine will go straight in (so I'm told), 245bhp stock, but it isn't rocket science to get it up to 300bhp. Deeeper your pockets, the faster you can go with this engine.
The JTCC touring Supras were running the 2.0 3SGTE (as was a Top Secret car) at 800 BHP!
Ethi competition?
Having looked at an S2 Exige at the weekend I cant see much room for a turbo but a modified manifold could add a bit more room.
