Fantastic wasnt it!!! Really must go in full 50's gear at some point, brilliant atmosphere. Even the drivers were quite friendly and approachable - was suprised how consistant Rowan Atkinson was too (was showed his time sheet, a fair few 1min48 laps in a big rolling mk7 Jag!) Shame about Stirling Moss not being able to drive though and of course the owner of that 1.5litre F1 car that ended up pretty scarily bent.
A few PH spotteds (AdamT/mikeTs RUF? is the first off the top of my head!) Oh and saw an F355 worth noting, with the plate 4321 GO

Have to agree with you fella's what an absolutely brilliant event
a couple of us from D&C went for the three days and what a scorcer.Just one big party atmosphere and the actual motor racing was something else.Must say it beats Le Mans for me and we are all going back next year with even more Tiv's and in the 50's garb. The icing on the cake would be to see TVR 2 racing at Goodwood
Cheers. JT ps Just had to add FAR more classy than Le Mans and the women dressed so sexy too

Top day...
My first Revival, I was in full 1940/50's regalia, plus 4's and heavy tweed jacket..(bl00dy hot)
It was a good job we were in the Hawthorn Hospitality, shade, champagne, canapes, beer, full lunch and afternoon tea.... Without all that the day would have been just great rather then fantastic....
What did make the day all the better was the performance from Graeme Bryant and Bill Shepherd in 'GPG' Ac Cobra starting 17th on the grid for the 1 Hour TT race and finishing 2nd....
Well done..
We were invited by Bill for the day....So we had a pretty excited pavillion.
Many thanks.
Spotted numerous Chims a Griff and a Tamora which looked like it had a for sale sticker in the window..

I think it was Chris Smith the owner of Westfield Sports Cars who had that nasty accident. He was taken
to hospital.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Chris
It happened almost in front of us - BIG impact
Hope he's OK.
Yep - great event! I got through 15 rolls of film over 2 days just snapping fantastic cars in lurid powerslides!
The driver of the rather bent F1 car was indeed Chris Smith (owner of Westfield Sportscars), and the latest from the Goodwood website is:
We were standing just up from there, and it was very worrying to see them take so long to get him out, and also to see the state of the car afterwards. Very good to hear that he's in one piece.

In the early stages of the Glover Trophy race for 1.5-litre Grand Prix cars on the Sunday (Sept 5) of the Goodwood Revival, Christopher Smith from Kinver, West Midlands, suffered a substantial impact in his 1961 Lotus-Climax 18 at Madgwick corner. He fractured one ankle and broke the tibia of his other leg.
Chris, head of Westfield Sports cars, is a highly experienced driver having raced extensively since the 1960s.
The complex chassis structure of the Lotus’s nose caused complications for the crew tasked with extracting Chris from the car, which took longer than expected (Racing was eventually restarted around 45 minutes later).
The hospital reports that Chris is comfortable and making good progress.

Ben you should have left a note on the windscreen with mobile number i would have given you a call and we could have had a beer or a bit of champagne or just gone for a blast
It was a really good day, but a bit hot imho![]()
all the best

Next time I most certainly will!! tbh, I saw it in the distance (I was walking along parking area F - pre 60's and saw a yellowbird in the opposite field.) Was very very tempted to go over at lunch and leave a note, but thought you might not have the foggiest who I was
Looked like you were in parking E - so I may well have been in the same grandstand as you? (Lavant Corner?) Would have been good to grab a drink or compare two very different turbocharged, rear engined hoonsters...
(Cerbs in for a 48k service, but on unfamiliar roads the smarts always quicker due to better vision/ ridiculously friendly handling... gutted, missed opportunity!) Dad looked at me confused and said "whos adam?" - to which I replied "well, you know that time I went at an indicated 204mph at brunters..."

Still cant get over that Ferrari on the way back though, 4321 GO - PERFECTION.

did wonder whether the guy in the program was the "Nick Whale" of NW sportscars...
Also owner of Porsche Centre Solihull, and in partnership with Damon HIll BMW warwick and four Audi Dealerships
Safe to assume he has a little bit of cash behind him then?
A "few" pennies no doubt

Ben you have been one of best passengers to date, and i have no doubt that the smart could easily give the ctr a run for its money on tight twisties, sadly im not going to vmax in october, neither is my pa, but next year definetley!
And we were at lavant corner also, dang nevermind, have some beers some other time

Thanks, its always a pleasure to be thrown down the runway at such a pace that it makes me question my own mental definition of quick! Have to say to this day the 318compact was probably my fave vmax run, very smooth, exceeded expectations and generally a laugh!
As for the smart, well it can show up a few blackpool rockets when the going gets twisty, but RUF's creations re-define fast - but it would have made a nice viewing point as the Yellowbird flies off into the distance.
Heard about the Vmax, next time, next time... Infact, next year I may be bringing along the Cerby, so I can finally repay you for such brilliant rides. That said im not a particularily talented driver and its appretiably slower both your RUFs... Will see how things go, currently worrying about Uni costs - Vmaxxes are a little lower in my current priority list!
Definately need to chat over a few drinks sometime
See you soon(ish) no doubt!
