Choose me a cool daily runner for a grand-ish!!

Found out this months that my company car is another 2 months away and I cant take the train much londer. 50 mile commute so I'm gonna throw a grand at is a buy a runner to tie me over for a couple of months.

So I need you help, ideally something cool, and prices up to £1200 max

Honda del sol CRX. An unloved Honda, but goes fairly well and the VTi has a 160hp VTEC screamer and 7.x 0-60mph performance. The roof is uber cool
