Hi folks,

I have a '91 944 S2 which is currently completely standard apart from 18" wheels. Having been in discussions with various friends over the past few of months, I've finally decided to start modifying the car.

What I need to know is were I should be looking to start modifying and why. (I'll be looking to making the mods slowly and over the next couple of years.) Do I start with an induction kit? If so, which ones can I choose from? Do I start with an air filter? Should I be looking at exhausts yet? How can I determine if an exhaust is good/bad? Is it worth getting a chip yet, or should this be the last thing I modify? Which chips have been bought by other 944 owners and well do they work?

Where should I be shopping from to buy any parts I'll need?(www.promaxmotorsport.com and www.essentialstyling.com seem to have more mods available for a 944 than most other companies I've found, but if anyone else knows of any other reputable companies, then please pass their details on.)

The reason for wanting to make the mods is not to race the car. In fact, I use the car as my everyday car so don't want to go ott with the mods. Regardless, I am looking to gain more power/torque where possible and to have a better sounding/handling/efficient car.

Any help/advice from anyone who has modified their 944 (or anyone else) would be greatly appreciated.

Look forward to your replies.

Thanks in advance for your help/comments,

Jabriel

Both the companies you have mentioned are reputable but the gains you can make on an S2 are small

Buy a turbo instead

For the small sum of £5500 ! A company called Ninem wil supercharge your S2, if its a pre Cat car (which it should be) then you could be looking at 350 BHP, which is nice. You might want to consider a brake upgrade at the same time !

I could be wrong, but add VAT onto that and its £6500 rather than £5500 - roughly what an S2 costs to begin with!
