Home Insurance with Bike Cover

I know it's probably been covered before however I'm currently in the market to find some decent home insurance that'll also cover bikes. I know most will only pay out a small amount like £500 per bike however I need them to cover at least 1k per bike.

Also if I was to keep them in an outside storage space (shed/bike container) would the home insurance still cover them?

I'm hoping to pick up a few recommendations and also any experience of these companies paying out!

AA home insurance are good with the cover.. not had to claim yet, but do a new for old, with no requirements on locks or anything. My bikes are max value 1k, not sure how much higher would be ok.

Halifax cover our bikes up to the value of £3000. I think it costs us about £20 extra a year.

Thanks both, do you know if that covers bikes locked up outside in a shed?

Don't know, mine are in the integral garage.

my home insurance is with natwest and i had to take extra cover wit hthem for my bike to be stored in an outside shed

Aviva can give you upto £2500 on your bike insurance. Whatever figure you put into their site (IE £1K), this then becomes their individual bike limit, so you could have 10 bikes worth upto £1000

I have this (well, not the 10 bikes bit...), it added just a few pounds onto the annual premium and no extreme lock requirements that some policies carried even when bike parked inside the house.

I recently claimed on my Barclays insurance and they paid out no trouble at all. I had to add bikes to my cover but up that's up to £2.5k and only cost a few quid more.

I recently re-insured with Marks & Spencer which covered my bikes & tools etc in sheds. Plus kites & boards etc out & about.
Great cover at a good price and all on line so you don't have to talk to some pushy sales / foreign person etc.

I remember someone a couple of years ago saying M&S do very good cover for bikes etc. Do you know what they'll cover up to per bike?
