Ford rear brake calipers
Discussion
I have Ford calipers on my Sylva Riot, which I bought built. On the invoice for the original items, the rears are just stated to be Sierra/Granada. Looking at parts suppliers' websites, it appears that they are the same for all models with a solid disc. Is this correct?
One of mine has seized solid and the other is none too good so I was thinking of rebuilding them. I read somewhere on the internet (so it must be true) that the rears can be a pig to rebuild and it's as well to get exchange refurbished units instead. True or not?
I've found these http://www.carbrakecalipers.co.uk/product_info.php...
and these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Sierra-rear-brake-c...
There seems to be a huge price difference.
Any suggestions?

The ones you spotted on ebay have a £50 rebate when you send back your old units, and include the sliders, so the prices start to get a bit closer when you take that into account.
When I built my Mojo I got a set of sierra calipers (front and rear) from the scrapyard and then exchanged them for recon units, think all 4 calipers was about £150 back in 2004.
I just used my local motor factor, but have since heard good things about brakes international www.brakesint.co.uk
