Anyone attempted to park an S in Saunton Sands car park, North devon. Hoping to drive down for my :cough: 40th :cough: in a few weeks (not enough weeks!!) and not sure if those 'private road' speed bumps are safe to negotiate...

No problem at all.... Mine has ben there a couple of times, set of clubs and 2 up, no scrapes...

If you take the coast road through Saunton up to Croyde, Wollacombe or Ilfracombe, take extreme care...

The road is very narrow and really bumpy. Add that to all the numpty people carrier driving holidaymakers, not pulling over to left you through, meaning the the side of the car is scraping down the bushes...

I was down there bank holiday weekend in the S. link road from Taunton to Barnstaple is a blast.

Don't forget to pop into Peninsula whilst you are down there..if only just to drool...

So you enjoyed our Devon roads then Dave!

Were Peninsula open on BH Monday then? Dunno if you got my mail before you left?

Not tried the Saunton car-park myself yet. Had some fun in the sun on Dartmoor yesterday though and not too many numpties now the school hols are over. Fabulous Tiv weather!

Yes, had a real blast out...
Mind you the suspension took a real battering..

Peninsula was open but they didn't have that much to look at.. Had a quick chat and a look around but no Griff 500's to tempt me over...

I see that white S is still there it must have been on the forecourt for over a year...Its looking a bit scruffy now.

We took the exeter road down to Sidmouth from Barnstaple. That road is equally good as the link road to..

But watch out on the link road - there are speed cameras lurking.

If you drive the coastal road from Saunton through Croyde, do a left after the Thatched Barn pub and head down the v narrow lane and up over the hill, you can get to a place called Putsborough. It has a nice big car park overlooking the beach. There are speedbumps but they are nothing to worry about.

If you park right at the front it's a lovely place to take some moody shots of the S!

Yep love Putsborough but have a special place for Saunton.... 1st surf, 1st powerkite flight, and proposed to the wife there before many an hour getting p$ssed on HSD in the Thatch - O happy days (one day I will live in Devon)!
