Hi

i was late by a week on a credit card payment.
Never been late on anything ever before.
2 mortgages going etc etc.

I have been told by the bank that this will leave a small footprint on my expedion credit record.

1) how much of an affect is this single late payment going to have wehn i want to remortgage next year?

2) I was told i could add a note of explanation to the expedion credit trrecord to explain the circumstaces (idiot forgot).
Is this easy to do? Worth doing?

Thanks

I wouldn't worry at all. Late payments happen.

As long as the lender can see that it's the exception rather than the rule, you shouldn't have any issues.

Thanks.

I just had a word with the credit card company.
Due to exceptional circumstances they have agreed to remove the entry on the credit record.
So no problem now.

Had me very worried for a moment.

I'd be extremely supprised if they even reported that to the credit reference agencies, probably some agent wanting to make you feel like they have done you a favour.

Payments have to be 30 or more days late before they get reported, of course creditors don't want people to know that.
