I've seen them twice before (Manchester Velodrome and Bestival), they had part of the 3D show at Manchester but not the full set in 3D. They are great live especially indoors where you fully appreciate the projections, don't expect much more than a "auf weidersen (sp)" though in the way of crowd interaction.

Was hoping no one would spot these gigs until too late and I'd get a choice of nights, will take any ticket but TEE or MM would be my night of choice. Along with The Cure my favourite band ever, absolutely perfect music I never get bored of listening to.

I went to the Velodrome. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Will certainly try to make one of the Tate Modern gigs, though not sure which yet. Having always been very much into Jean Michel Jarre and, therefore, the concept of music in unusual spaces, I always thought it would be cool for someone to do the Turbine Hall. I had hoped I'd make something of myself as an electronica producer and become the first to do it. As it is, I can only take comfort from the knowledge that Kraftwerk have had the same idea as me!

All I can say is good work, hope you enjoy the gig and underrated album in my opinion.

Looks like it was the usual ticket debacle and after 5 hours trying I've given up, easily the hardest gig for tickets in my 30 years experience. Just fortunate I've seen them before or I would be truly gutted.

I tried on and off for an hour or so, and then gave up. I don't think the Tate had much idea what they were doing. Why not let Ticketmaster do it?

I did the same and had the same thought about ticket master. Bit of a farce really.

Between my wife and I we've made close to 300 calls throughout the day, starting at 7:30am.
Not even got to the queue. Caitlin Moran tweeted a while ago that she'd been in the queue for 5 hours.

I don't mind being in a queue, at least you have a hope, but to join the queue seems so hit and miss.

Apparently there's still tickets left for Tour de France and Technopop, I might keep trying but I've no optimism.

I suppose seeing them at Sonar next July will be consolation

Not impressed with the quality of the 3D specs, but it's looking like a nice small crowd. Only about third of the turbine hall in use, with seating on cushions on the floor.

Just read the reviews for this show and looks like awesome sums it up pretty well, even more frustrated I couldn't get tickets for the run. I'm just surprised they didn't use all of the hall for this although it would have meant being on the phone for 18 hours rather than the 5 or 6 I tried!

Hope Kraftwerk do a similar run somewhere else in UK or Europe (couldn't do Dusseldorf) but having followed them for over 25 years and knowing things are done on their terms I may be in for the long game.

Just out of interest did anyone in the returns queue get a ticket?

I guess it makes sense to just use the sloping ramp at one end of the hall so the audience can see over each other's heads. The idea of sitting on the supplied cushions lasted for about ten seconds after they came on.

I was wondering beforehand how they were going to treat Autobahn, as the original has a lot of conventional instrumentation and is noticeably different from their later all-electronic albums. It turns out that the second side of the album in particular was cut down quite a lot - running through the whole lot took them just over 30 minutes, cutting more than 10 mins from the actual recording.

The other tracks of the evening were a chronological run through the best of their other work, and of these only 'Expo 2000' was less than great. The way they were arranged and performed completely overcame the 29-year timespan of their creation, with the whole set feeling cohesive and contemporary. The setting and minimalist performance added to the impression that this was as much an artwork as a concert, and after 30 years of listening to their recordings I'm really glad I got to see them live at least once in my life.

It'll never happen, but I'd buy a live recording of the show in an instant.
