direct.gov.uk Website - changed?

Just went to SORN one of my bikes, and the direct.gov website seems to have completely changed. I've no problem with change as such, but it now looks like one of those websites you end up on when you mis-type a URL, the ones which give you links to loads of websites you don't actually want or need. Looks incredibly generic/amateur.

I only used the SORN website last weekend and it was the usual orange-coloured site then. I'm slightly reluctant to use the site being presented today.

Anyone else noticed this or sued the new version?

I just renewed my tax disc today and it looked the same as last year.

It's a new look www.gov.uk front end. If you drill down to the tax disc renewal page, that's the same old direct.gov page. It'll all catch up in time.

Hi,

It is a legit site, the old orange DirectGov one has gone & it's now green. I think it's supposed to be a rationalisation although some transport bits are still work in progress. The SORN bit does link through to DVLA & works as usual. Did mine last week of Nov.

Hmm, if I use your link I too get to the old-style page, but if I type in www.direct.gov.uk, with no further suffix, I get something very different! I'll post a pic when I can.

EDIT: typed that whilst others were responding. I think that new site is appalling in design - as I said, just looks like a click-through fishing site. Surely that's not the best they could come up with? Even the YTS kid could have done something better for them!
