I need to buy a new weights bench as the one I have is now 17years old and was never the most stable....in fact it would not surprise me if it is a youth size as it's tiny hehe

I have a budget of £250, and ideally want one with a squatting rack option as well as leg curl choices.

Something like this

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Everlast-EV-340-Weight-Ben...

If any of you have experiences with something similar and can recommend a product please let me know smile

Cheers!

Squatting rack option probably would be more efficient with a separate choice option, Smiths etc.

Pretty good selection.

It depends on your needs, goals and preferences, but you can't beat a bench that will incline, decline, lay flat and give you an anchor point for your feet. This way you can hit chest and back at every angle, and also work your abs and erector spinae group at multiple angles. Anything else is over-spend.

So what you probably want is something like this : http://www.powerhouse-fitness.co.uk/bodymax-cf328-... or this: http://www.powerhouse-fitness.co.uk/bodymax-cf510-...

(NB: silly quick google search)

I'd make one and use the money saved to buy creatine.

Not really, but would make my own and buy more weights with the money saved. But I am a cheap bd.

Would you need to invest in the creaturetine first, so's you could bend the steel to shape with bare hands?

^ haha This is the way to be IMO.

I can make do with dumbells, a chain and a pull-up bar - £60. I have a triangle that would make Pythagoras' a$$ dibble lubricative fluids...

For sure, it would be doomed to failure otherwise.

I actually used to do a lot of grip work, bending and sledge hammer levering (google images will show you) before I did strongman- I can still bend 6" nails biggrin

Thank you for buying the ACME Leg Activator and giving us your confidence (you mug), we are sure that it will give you minutes of satisfaction.

Please use the string to select from:

Small
Medium
Extra beefy

ACME will not be held responsible for any injuries caused by the Leg Activator since as it doesn't work it cannot possibly injure anything. Except your pride. (although you bought it in the first place so you can't have much ha, ha.) And your bank balance. You fool.

I went for the Bodymax CF430 bench and 415 squat rack in the end, had a good read of some exercise forums last night and these seem ideal for my needs smile thanks for the response, much appreciated!

Any reason for the more expensive bench?

I couldn't find it on a google search but there was a bench I used to get for people that is similar but has a leg extension option, still for £100 (I often find myself sourcing efficient choices for people). A leg extension is a simple addition but great for some hams and quad isolations for routine finishers.

I read it had a higher weight limit and was only an extra £25 so thought it would last longer than the cheaper bench.
