I was on a main road this evening in slow traffic. There was a junction on the left which people were kindly letting people out of - almost a one after another kind of thing - all very nice. I flashed out one driver, still moving forwards in slow traffic, he started to join. Then I noticed t
t bag in a clapped out old Mercedes - some loser who jumped forwards almost hitting the car I let out. He then tried to force his way in ahead of me but there was already no room - didn't stop him coming right up to the door and beeping though. I could only laugh...
Why are people such impatient d
heads?

I love it when you can tell that the person behind you is one of those really impatient people.
The look on their face as you let people out at each junction is brilliant.
Or it's a look of frustration at someone stamping on the brakes, making a queue of cars snake up behind them and potentially causing an accident, to let one person out of a side road. The look on their face as you let people out at each junction is brilliant.

ETA if the driver behind is having to "stamp on his brakes" he either needs to improve his observation skills or leave a bigger gap.

OPs post suggests to me that the traffic on the main road was either stationary or crawling. Just seems common courtesy to me to let cars joining from the side road "filter" in.

Correct, I wasn't referring directly to the OP.ETA if the driver behind is having to "stamp on his brakes" he either needs to improve his observation skills or leave a bigger gap.
It's just something I see happen quite a bit, and it's a very common cause of accidents.

Hence when someone does something out the ordinary accidents tend to happen - in this case everyone can see that the road is clear and driving along and all of a sudden someone in front brakes sharply as they want to help someone come out the junction - this catches out the person behind who is driving on the assumption the road is clear and hence mentally slow to react as the situation unfolds.
Quite often the person being let out of the junction then feels obliged to come out and sometimes that creates a secondary dangerous situation as they cannot sometimes see the other lane and try and slowly edge out etc.
My view is if the traffic is slow moving do your best to help someone out, but in other cases it can be more risky...
