Low Roller MTB Tyres - Maxxis Minotaur Replacements

Had Maxxis minotaurs for ages, 26 1.90 iirc and they have been fine as these days I spend most time out with kids, so I don't need anything extreme, low rolling resistance with enough grip when I need it.

Any recommendations?

ETA search on wiggle/crc there are millions to choose from and not been able to get to lbs since trip to coed y brenin..

Continental speed king if you are not going to do anything extreme or Mountain King if you are going to do any trails. Cheap and more than upto the job.

standard answer is Maxxis Larsen TTs or Kenda Small Block 8s

I do like TTs when its dry or hard pack, you get a surprising amount of grip from them

I have a set of these WTB Ultimate Kombat tyres I'm just about to take off one of my bikes:




They roll really well on the flat knobs when the going is firm but the sharp edges of the tread dig in well when you do need grip.

Mine have about 70% tread left and I was gong to lob them on eBay, but you can have first refusal if you like

Impressed with these I have to say, roll very freely and handled just about everything Wharnecliffe could throw at it and those of you that know it know how bad the mud is up there.

Maxxis Cross Mark. I ride minimum once a week, all off road, and until recently I was still running a Cross Mark on the back (2.1 with an Advantage 2.4 on the front). Excellent do it all tyre, I will switch back to the Cross Mark when Spring reaches her delicate tendrils across the trails once more...

I'm a huge Crossmark fan too. I commute on them and have used them in some sticky/slippy conditions with no drama.
