Corrupted compact flash card

I've got a 64mb CF card that's got a number of photos on it but I can't get them off! The card works fine and can be read/written to except for 16Mb worth of photos in a sub-folder. These photos all have a blank name and extension which can't be changed and Windows reports them all (about 25) as 16Mb Any idea's how I can retrieve them? They can't be copied to my computer's hard drive or be renamed

Not sure how you would access them,
There are software solutions around but tend to be pricey/complicated .


if you would like to DELETE them you could :
try formatting the card via your cameras menu.

Managed to get 100+ photos off a dead Smartmedia card for a friend using "Getdataback" from Runtime software.

Just pop the card in the reader and let the software do it's thing.....

I've heard that some unscrupulous folk have downloaded it from Kazaa.

Lexar have an application called image rescue that they often put on their CF cards as a freebie - might be worth looking at their web site to see if you could download it.

Run a scandisk on the card from windows. This should end you up with the files being OK. They might have a different name after, but should still work.

The Lexar thing is only free with their products

But, Getdataback is sharewhere and saved the day! Although you can't save files recovered you can view them in your browser, so a right click|save file as later and all photos bar 2 were recovered
