Anything to avoid/reccomend? Someone at work got stuck on the grass tonight and it occurred to me that its one thing I dont carry with me. Having broken 2 or 3 crap ones before Im after something decent. Nothing extreme required, (not to go behind a 4x4) but ideally something kinetic and something not kinetic. Maybe those below?

Towed umpteen vehicles over the years. The neoprene )type) rope has a lot of give which dies reduce the shock to both cars. Towed with a chain VERY exciting.

I would urge a real towbar rather that the standard hook. Load is far better placed. The two to suggest are OK but the stronger they are the less the give.

I watched someone towing a Freelander with a Transit today, and they didn't know how to do it. Transit pulls away as it normally would, jerking the freelander so hard that it causes the transit to stall. Freelander does emergency stop. Repeat half a dozen times. On a roundabout. biggrin

Oh Dearie Me.

I spun a Range Rover Sport pulling a heavy racing car completely at speed pirouetted three times years ago. I was driving far too fast in the pouring rain. Unsafe in the conditions. Prat. Fortuitously the rig stayed on the road.

Drove very very gently for the rest of the trip!!! The swinging around on the end of the unit was deeply disconcerting Never again!!
