Le Mans 24 Hours... du vélo?

Just seen a story about this... a 24-hour sportive on the Bugatti circuit at Le Mans on the 24th/25th August next year. Anyone interested in making up a team? Can enter individually, as a 2, 4, 6 or 8 (though 6 or 8 require 2/3 women in the team).

I thought we could make up a PH "four" (in 'team' kit!), and do six hours each over the course of the 24?

Same weekend as the Bristol to London sportive which I am trying to convince a mate to do on a tandem but it looks like a giggle. From those videos though, I can imagine its really busy on the track, in 2012 there were 400+ teams competing and the track is only 2.8 miles long...

ISTR the entry fee for that event is fairly huge and it's only on the bugatti circuit rather than the full layout. I did the Rad am Ring instead and loved that. 24 hours on the bugatti circuit could get pretty dull.

I think one of the biggest challenges in this event is not succumboing to boredome. We have a local race series around a motor racing circuit (2.5km approx) and 45 minutes of that is mind numbing enough. Still, it would be one for the memoirs.

Maybe Rad am Ring is a better idea then... wonder if they've sorted out a proper website that renders correctly yet.
