Following on from the Bentley thread, what modern cars convey the image of a fine standing gentleman of old school class?

Like from Gone in 60 Seconds when Nicholas Cage went into the Ferrari showroom for [can't remember the model]?

But the Bristol has hit that nail right on the head.

Are they still made? Or can you only be considered a true car nut if you have a classic?

Yes, you can go into the Kensington showroom and order a new 411 Series 6. Think they're around the £130k mark. smile

Ouch.

Anything available that's lighter on the wallet? I'm thinking classy drivers cars here - great to drive yet still relatively not in your face so fine to turn up to a restaurant in...

How about a Bufori?

Saw a gold one in the flesh today... firmly do not want, despite a V8 and 470 hp.

From what I understand (I know a couple of PHers with them) they are pretty solid. Like any other car if you look after them they will last a lifetime. Oh and XJRs like pictured are very quick when pedalled correctly!

Indeed. The X350 even has a leaper on the bonnet - indefensibly gauche by anyone's estimation.

Jaguar Steve's spot on, and if one must travel swiftly, a supercharger is a must.

A bit budget, but you could do a LOT worse than a 75:
