Beer in tinnies - no more.

Earlier this year I thought about getting into home beer brewing, now the time has come for action. Noticed the continuing fall in alcoholic strength of some fine old beers destined for the supermarket? so have I. My last foray into home brewing was some thirty years ago with dodgy wine making gear, my guess is that self brew kits have evolved over time. Being a strong full bodied ale enthusiast the time has come then for home beer brewing. Tips/advise/comments gratefully received.
