So, I'm just back from a 500-mile round trip to Hampshire, where I took in a visit to Carl Baker (top bloke) and caught up with some mates.

It wasn't the ideal time of year to make the trip - I set off at 5am on Wednesday, the forecast was lousy and when I started the car the warning snowflake light soon went from green to red.

But the Cerb was flawless and the miles absolutely flew by. The journey seemed to take half the time of what it would have taken if I'd done it in my runabout, even though I was doing the same speed - mostly wink.

The rain, sleet and ice meant the car was the dirtiest I've ever seen it when I got back a few hours ago - so filthy I couldn't bring myself to take a picture of it. Anyway, after a good clean and Karcher of the underside, it's free of the salt and muck and resting in the garage, awaiting a couple of slurps of oil.

It's been said before but I'll say it again. The Cerb really is a great Grand Tourer. Good times.

You were about 15 miles from me.
Did Carl suggest when he was finishing in the UK and did he also hint that he would be doing it from his new place with a boarding Gite nearby? biggrin

Great on a run these cars, in fact the Cerb and the Chimaera were more comfy on a long trip than my old company car.

Yours is still my second most favourite sounding Cerbera wink

Never a truer word said, Si.

All these doom and gloom merchants have either purposfully avoided or can't admit to what mile-eating, marvellous road-monsters these babies are.

Nice Post thumbup

Hi Mark - if i'd known you were down the road i'd have blasted past!

I think Carl will be around here for another couple of months - but he's certainly winding it all down over here. He's planning to carry on working with TVRs when he's out there, although getting the gite up and running is top priority, and that will také a few months i think.
