The fastback doesn't look too bad. Convertible looks terrible.

Quite like both, it is a bit heavy over the rear wheel arch & that looks good on the coupe but not quite right on the convertible.

Discussed here: http://pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&amp...

I quite like the coupe version. It's almost but not quite if you know what I mean. And I like that.

The coupe looks good, but the rear arches and wing vent are a bit ott.... Tone it back a little and it would look ace.

They don't look bad, but really I'd happily pay for an original design rather than a shoddy lookalike

Says it just replaces the 'bolt on' parts.

Looks awesome IMO.

Its taken me about 7 looks at the pictures to realize that it is supposed to be a GTO look-a-like kit.

I was admiring it for making the MX5 look so much more muscular and half wondering how much more than the £1700 kit cost it'd take to make the completed thing.

I had a chat with the company at the exeter kit car show the car looks better in the flesh than in pictures, 1900 is for the body panels and roll bar you will need a rear window of a renault 5, lights, wheels, then paint so it could be done for around the 4k mark less uf you paint it yourself.

I was thinking about one but then found out the stuart mills of mev is making a new kit a dbr1 replica using the mx5 but can take any number of engine choices a basic kit is 5k and around 10k to build one you can also buy a turnkey one for 20k thats my next build oh and im already builder another of his kits an exocet.

Thought the same thing...Looks like quite a daunting task but I do think the coupe looks pretty good:

Well it should have been all but finished in novemember but haven't been abale to work on it since the begining of novemember so still need to fit the tyres to the wheels, fit the spacers and wheels to car, then i can fit the cycle wings, seats harness, fuel tank lines and finish of the wiring. All the parts are in the garage just been to busy with other projects.
