Remap and limiter

Hi guys. Currently running a 250cdi r172 SLK. Just mulling things over. Current top speed is quoted at 151mph. Assuming the car was remapped to produce more power, would there still be a 155mph limiter even though the car wasn't intended to travel that quickly? Or is it a case that the electronic limiter is part of the map so it depends on what you have done?

I don't know for sure, but would imagine that the coding for that part of the map will be universal between all models, therefore I would imagine the limiter would be there. But this is just speculation based on knowledge from manufacturing processes.
