head work for mi16
Discussion
Best leave well alone unless you fit 2mm bigger inlet valves because they flow very well as standard and are hard to improve. The funds are best spent on other things like cams and induction. I'm afraid I've long since sold out of my 36.5mm valves and have no current plans to get another batch made seeing as I'm sort of semi-retired other than doing odds and sods for mates.
Once I've settled into the new house up in Scotlandshire, got all my equipment installed and had a bit of a break I may start up again and may even get another batch of valves made but not just now.

Mi16 that brings back memories,I had one 18 years ago.As said leave it alone, just make sure everything is perfect.I think it was one of the best engines Peugeot made, especially the pre kat 1.9.All I had done (1994 remember)was the ECU re chipped and move the air flow meter inline with a K&N.In those days I regularly drove to Germany often hitting 150mph!! Like Puma I`m retired, those were the days.

Dave, I thought the cams were pretty extreme anyway and going further needed the valves you used to sell?
No, the stock cams are pretty run of the mill OE road 16v items in terms of duration. The high power output comes mainly from the large valves and good head flow. Much bigger valves at 34.6mm than most 2 litre ish four cylinder 4v engines and nice port shapes and sizes. It's possible to get more flow on the stock valve sizes but it's not easy and I'd suggest most head porting "specialists" would make it worse not better without a lot of flow bench time. That's why I went straight to bigger valves rather than charge anyone for porting work on the stock valve sizes for minimal gains.
