Satnav and autotrader

Hs anyone else noticed that their satnav mileage calculation differs vastly from auto trader. Auto trader reckons dartford form my house is 42 milles. It might be if you fly up into outer space wait for the world spin round and then drop down again but in real life it's 70 miles. Does anyone else find the auto trader inaccuracy annoying

Does it work it out as how the crow flies?
If so it Is a pretty pointless way of doing it.

Think it's always been that way, once you have looked at a few ads and realised the true distance by road compared to the claimed distance its just a case of correcting for it.
