With the recaro seats it may become a pain getting in and out everyday. They do come with the same seats as you get in a sport although then there isn't much if any difference between a sport and a club sport.

Still one of the best handing cars I've ever driven, extremely capable, well sorted and exploitable chassis.

Would echo earlier comments around the seats but other than that it's probably a more practical daily than many "modern" Porsches.

Finding a good one will be the difficult bit as there are becoming quite highly prized.

A good alternative would be a 944 S2, significantly cheaper than a 968CS but with the same (or similar) chassis, another little known fact is that the S2 is lighter than a 968CS and a well sorted one equally as good on track. Many are suffering from age related issues but there are some well sorted examples out there too, perhaps more suitable as a daily hack if you like the shape and look as it will be less precious but still highly capable.

I drove a sport as a daily for about 4 years and it was fab. And it's the same car. Obviously, most sports have comfort seats, so if you are looking at a cs with buckets, just make sure they are comfortable for you. Or sell them for a fortune!

My 968 was the best long distance car I have ever owned, rented or driven. I think it's mainly due to the great low driving position and the balanced chassis.

Buy a 968 sport, chuck out the rear seats, buy some pole positions and clubsport stickers, enjoy the thousands you've saved.

I did 10,000 miles in my Sport in 6 months and 36,000 in my 951 in the 3 years prior to that.

Great car for relaxed mile-munching

Also been using a Sport as a daily driver for the past 13 months and touch wood its been faultless and a lot of fun. There seems to be a lot of crossover between Sports and ClubSports in terms of spec - with many Clubsports quite high spec and non MO30 suspension anti-rollbars and brakes - seems a bit pointless paying the premium for one of these.

As a daily driver I'd suggest a Sport was a better bet simply because lower prices make them less mileage sensitive / less garage jewellery. The Sport is a pretty basic analogue car but certainly benefits from having more than 2 speakers, proper door pulls, electric windows, central locking etc on a daily drive. Also in all honesty they're all quite lardy cars such that a few KG saves are really neither here or there...

Buy the CS. If you find the seats too much then get some normal ones of eBay and store the buckets until you start tracking it or sell it.

Do it you won't look back....

Ran a CS as a daily driver with Recaro Pole seats, and drove it to Le Mans 3 or 4 times. Couldn't fault it as a daily drive / GT car. Really engaging.

Lovely, lovely cars. My CS had the comfort seats and it was sublime. The handling was so good that it highlighted the slight lack of power though. They're not slow, but they're so balanced that they could handle another 100bhp and still not be lairy.

I sat in the remains of mine tonight after covering 400 miles this week in my new XK8

Whilst the XK8 is a great car, the 968 just felt 'right' an extension of yourself, a very analogue car

Get out there and buy one. Last thing is ........ if you can, buy with the OE race seats if you are going to do distance. Cars are worth a bit more, but race seats were the best long distance seats I've ever sat in. 600 miles in a day and no complaints. Enjoy, lovely cars.

It wasn't me driving but that doesn't make it easier. A hard lesson.

Do it.

About 20k in mine in 2 years, not all my traveling but a chunk of it and have loved it.

You can also dysfunction those guys that tuck their garage Queens up for the winter with pictures like this:

These cars a so much more reliable when used everyday as long as you lift the bonnet every week and stay on top of the fluids, that is an excellent early indicator of any impending issues.
