Hi Guys

I will be looking for new tyres shortly for my XJR.

I have used Falken 452 and Kumho KU39 before on different cars and like them both.

Has anyone used them on the XJR? Also, has anyone tried the new Falken 453 on an XJR?

Many thanks

Big Rod

The only yhting I have to say about tyres and XJ6s is not to buy budget.

Mine didn't make me happy at all until Dougie said he was going to swap my tyres around. I'd just bought a pair of continentals and put them on the front. So he put them on the back and the comedy named ones, (on the car when I bought them!), on the front.

What a difference! Transformed the car immediately.

Basically what Dougie said was that you need to find tyres with the strongest walls possible. Because the cars are so heavy and powerful, the amount of flex induced makes the cars feel horrible if the rubber's not up to it.

I replaced the Pirellis on my XJr V8 firsly with AvonZZ3's without any inferior effects then Avon ZZ5's. Good grip from both on the road and on track. Be interested how you get on with your choice

Many thanks guys, I will keep you updated.

It is on Michelin Pilot Sport 2s just now which are great, but the other tyres get favourable reviews and are a good bit less.

Rod - need to catch up soon!

A bit late but I have KU39's all round on my XJR Asteroids - very happy with the grip all round:

I believe the KU39 had strengthened tyre walls which is good for me as I leave mine on the drive for a few weeks at a time.

Hi Guys

I ended up ordering some Michelin Pilot Sports (again) from Oponeo for the cracking price of £141 each, which is way less than anyone else.

Thanks for your help, and have a great new year!

Cheers
