ive got 380mm with the 6 pots off a 2007 cup all round on my cayman. had to have inner rims off the front on the rear to clear the calipers. any step in the rim made it hit the caliper. i did it because i got a load of 380mm pf discs and pads in a job lot but only 1 set of 355mm rears with calipers, i think i still got 4 or 6 calipers left and about 20 new discs.anyway enough about my bitsa, so i guess these new cups would have to have little or no step on the inside of the wheel if they are still 18s to clear the brakes.
The 997 cup 380mm brakes clear with an 18" rim as does the RSR brakes. you just need to choose from a select list of 18" wheels.
They look still 18" to me. Unless 2013 is going to go nuts you still can't race anywhere with a wheel bigger than 18" either.
Interestingly, the brakes in that photo with car on air jacks aren't the same as the ones on the launch car.
Tyres are 27 front, 31 rear.

For this car Porsche have chosen a new brake supplier and gone back to iron discs. The original calipers for the car previous model were taken off the OEM line, but the new car featured a new OEM caliper suited for the larger rims. As a result the price for the caliper into Motorsport went up by 3 times (as it is now Aftermarket)and Brembo were ditched in favour of the Perfromance Friction kit you see here. Porsche have since taken strides to carry out similar re-sourcing on many car parts due to suppliers holding a gun to their head in terms of selling price. Rather foolish of Brembo in this instance.
Lovely looking car - shame about the paddle shift.

Fo' sho' indeed.. taller rear tyres on GT3 's gives a lot less strain on the transmission & also greater traction out of corners.. but your correct as production cars will run 20" rims with rubber band tyres.... ?been looking at various pics all day now.. love the front look & stance.. not so keen on the rear, busy badging & the diagonal white graphics do no favours.. dislike the smooth intake buldge also!
