Gimbal heads

Anyone got one?

I know that Wimberley are meant to be the best but they're chuffingly expensive, and Benro seem to make a few that are similar and more keenly priced.

Some advice or suggestions would be gratefully received.

I've got a Manfrotto 393 head, no issues with it at all.
Once the lens is mounted and I've found the neutral position (only takes a few seconds), it remains perfectly balanced, very smooth and very well made.
Think they're only £150 max, less if you shop around, so a fair bit cheaper than the Wimberleys.

Friend has a wimberly for his 400f2.8mkII

We both prefer shooting hand held.. Its OK just takes a lot of getting used too.

It seems that the Jobu gimbals are quite well thought of too, and while a wee bit more expensive than the Benros, pound for pound seem better value. The importer blokey in the UK leaves nearish to me so I is gonna pop in and see him on Friday me thinks.
