It's dawned on me that some electronics companies have really got an untapped earning potential here. 'Here' being this gullible government trying to please the emotive road safety briggade.
SO, a company realis that if you write some new software for a laser ranging device, you can make it measure speed. Give this product to your marketing people and the talivan is born, with full support from the government. Sod safety. Look at the profits!!!
Then a company thinks up the technology for SPECS, then truvelos, then bus lane cameras. Ker Ching!!!!
Thye latest I believe is a camera that can recognise the infra red signature for passengers in a car so it can automatically issue tickets to people using 2+ lanes who shouldn't be. Ker Ching!!!!!!!
We can expect this to go on unabated.
Cameras to detect when you've changed lane without indicating, cameras to detect if you're driving too close to the person in front, cameras to see if you've got both hands on the steering wheel, Cameras to setect if you've got a brake light out.
It's all coming, because the companies will develop the software, and the government will type approve it.
KERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR CHING!!!! goes the cash register.

Thermal doesnt work thru glass. Therefore the idea that a new sooper thermal cam will be watching us is a bit of crap (french) put out by the pr/spin dept to make us think we have no choice but to accept it.

What we need is a petrolhead writing the software for speed measuring devices. Back doors and the like. Coded pulses from vehicular IR emitters.

Or just convince them that it'd be a good idea to have speed measuring devices running Microshite "operating" systems, then they'd never work anyway...
