wiper self park
Discussion
Had just this problem. I undid the clamp around the motor (my car has motor/wheel box mounted upon nearside inner wing-top) and this gave me some accsess to the park switch and its connector. Gave this area a good clean and drying and then generously coated with copper grease to help keep the water out, fine ever since.

Park switch is a common fault on cars, up to 1997 facelift at least, the wiper motor switch sits in a pool of water generally and corrosion does its worst on the contacts. Best to lift the motor, clean up or replace the switch, then seal with clear silicone to avoid further damage.
+ Adrian Venn as also pointed out the contacts are not man enough for the motor
bit of a losing battle really
I tried a pattern one years ago but that failed shortly after so managed to bag 2 genuine Lucas ones and am only on the 1st one and that's been on for about 5 years now
I have to have things working
