After selling my 540 touring in May this year I tried various different cars including a Jag XJR but still I prefered my 540, today I am happy again just bought a 540 saloon same colour exterior and interior (not my favorite) but what a car put a big smile on my face all the way home, after keeping the last one 6 years I think I will keep this one until it dies. They say you should never go back to a car you have had before but I am glad I have, anyone want an XJR

Oddly I've been thinking of moving my 2001 740i Sport for an XJR this week. Am sure the feeling will pass soon

Always regretted selling my Triumph TR6.

Had to sell it to pay for my honeymoon - never quite forgave my now ex-wife for me having to sell my beloved TR just to fund 2 weeks in Majorca!!

I assume people wish that they kept Escorts because they're now worth a fortune.

I mentioned the Escort because people always post on these threads that they once owned a car that would be worth money today and thats fair enough, im just saying thats not me.

ITR, Great cars, wont really lose any more value on a decent one of these now.
No other car I've had is more fun / rewarding to drive hard.

Going to get flamed for this, but my 2000 Mk2 Mondeo - Was my first car, was a diesel, busted bumpers. Was so uncool, it was cool. Could load all my mates in it, could fit all my music gear in it. Did about 500 miles to a tank. Was pretty cheap to run. Was just a dead reliable, cool car. Miss it like crazy.

My 3.0 manual S-type. Was a facelift model and understand they were quite rare with that box. Sold it to my uncle, might get an S -Type R one day.

Definitely this. Only let it go because the rear arches were starting to bubble. Traded it in for a Vectra, which was the most awful piece of st car I have ever owned. Wish I kept this one. I have since owned a E36 Compact which was also a fantastic car

I bashed the front in on it like so:

And sold it for £300. It went for a M50 transplant.

I regret getting rid of both of these, probably the black one more so, and find myself repeatedly looking on ebay for another. I will quite possibly take the dive and get a touring, as long as I can persuade the wife that we don't really need a seven seater next.

My much loved and much polished 944 about 7 years ago. When we could not get the grandchildren in the back SWMBO said it had to go. Almost made me weep but swapped it for a 540, eventually got used to it but that had to go this year when the gearbox gave up.Did not miss that so much as the 944 but trying to get to love its replacement, a Mercedes clk 320. Still not sure about the Merc but cant afford to change now so will have to try to love it. I might be old now but still like what I call a nice car on the drive.

Fiat 850 Coupe. Bought for £23 at the age of 15, we thrashed it round the local quarry till it died. Scrapped for £25, a small profit. Sold by scrapper for £500. B@stard, we didn't know what it was.

RX8 coz i lost £10k on it in a year from new. On the plus side, if I'd have kept it until now I'd have lost £20k.

Midas Gold Coupe - it was so small I should have just tucked it away for a rainy day. Fibreglass too so it wouldn't have rusted.

I occasionally look at the one or two that seem to come up for sale annually and to be frank, they generally look awful. I've not seen another nice one since I sold mine.
