With my Tuscan normally being dry stored over winter I hardly ever have the need for heaters but I found today that they don't appear to be working.

The last time I drove they took ages to heat up and didn't get really hot. My car has A/C which works fine, the blower motor works at all levels it's just the heat that doesn't increase.

Has anyone please got any suggestions for what it may be. Having driven this car for 3 summers I never thought that getting heat INTO the cockpit was something I would ever encounter!!

Thanks all

Heater control box? My old Cerb had this problem and I had to get mine repaired, cost me about 100-150 quid if memory serves me correctly. In the Tuscan it is stuck with velcro just where the carpet meets the bottom of the dash on the passenger side. It just unplugs from a connector block.

Could be the heater control ecu.

It might be that the stepper motor under the heater and a/c exchangers is 'stuck' in the 'cold' position. Particularly if you rarely alter the 'heat' control knob.
Even used frequently the stepper motor can be reluctant to drive the flap to direct the blown air to the 'hot' side of the system.

I'd lift the hot side air box (bonnet off, scuttle panel off and then remove 4 self tappers and pull box off mounting plate). The stepper motor and linkage is visible underneath. Check the the motor is trying to alter flap when you change heat setting knob. Spray with WD40 or similar to help.

It could be the little electric motor that operates the heather flap, it sits under the heather matrix. Mine had failed few weeks ago.

Brilliant,
Thanks for these replies, stuck in the cold position sounds about right. It was a little reluctant before but no is just cold so that sounds very likely.

Many thanks

Go into service mode 15th screen shows current flap position ... Flap= 0 is fully closed ... as you turn the heater control it should open and the value increase.

and you should be able to hear the motor ears

How do you get the service menu?
Is that the same as clock/screen settings, or via laptop - I havent seen this in either?

Just had flap and blower motors replaced so getting warm air now!

The menu is only on the Convertible & MK3 Targa which is relevant to the OP.
