I'm assuming my new 2002 996 C2 3.6 doesn't have PSM as there's no button and I believe it was an option?
So does it have any traction control at all?
Certainly the rear end seems a little lively in these moist conditions!
Thanks, Paul

If you've no PSM button (usually top right of centre switch pack but can be relocated into any of the three locations) you are without the system. C4 got the system standard - IIRC correctly it was an option on the C2 - happy (slidey) days!!

Thanks Pope. How ironic it was standard on C4 but surely less needed. So did the C2 have no TC at all?

Porsche assumes C4 buyers are looking for safe and easy traction, so it makes sense really.

C2 drivers use the throttle!

Early 996's had traction control (TC button on dash) as an option, later superceded by PSM.

As posted above, the C2 as standard has no TC. (certainly mine hasn't)

Although it might sound scary, there is nothing to worry about. The car is very stable and the TC is much less needed than in an M3, in my view.

Mine has PCM, only been activated once in 3.5yrs & that was deliberate. Nice to have as a safety net I guess but in reality, not really required.
