Guys, can anyone recommend the best area to stay in for a family ?

Also, if anyones knows of a decent hotel that does a proper family suite with 3 beds and 2 separate or interconnecting rooms.

We stayed at the Hotel Drisco on July. We really liked it and they do suites - have a look but best also to call them as interconnectors are rarely evident with on hotel websites. http://www.hoteldrisco.com/accommodations

For familes I'd suggest Fishermans Wharf is the best area, over Union Square which is better for older familes/couples trips. Lots of touristy stuff concentrated in a relatively small area. I liked just sitting and looking out at the bridge(s), bay, and Alcatraz, oh and watching the sea lions frolick....

Locals don't like SF being called 'San Fran' I think it's on account of it being named after a saint.

SF seems to almost be a bit of a Marmite type destination, I've had close friends find it a bit meh but it's one of my fav cities. Only negative is that it's full of bums.....

You;ve never experienced a winter until you've experienced a San Francisco summer. Famous quote by someone.
