That little black box

Can anyone help please? I have a Smart For-Two (don't laugh- it is re-mapped and fairly quick and the only thing I an park in my street), the SAM unit (electronic management system) is water damaged from a leak from the windscreen. The car drives fine but the flasher relay sticks on. I sent it off to BBA Reman who returned it 'fixed' stating it would need to be fitted in the car to test it. To cut a long story short (I am still without car 3 weeks on) does anyone have experience of BBA Reman? I can't get through to them on the phone and am losing confidence that they can fix it. Are there any other specialist firms. Reputedly Mercedes will charge around a grand when the initial cause s a faulty windscreen. It appears that with any modern car you are f....d if the little black box fails. I can't even move the car as it is stuck in first gear now the SAM unit has been taken out.
