Nice Bar in Wakefield?

Looking at heading for a curry with my lass on Saturday night in Wakefield.

Is there anywhere nice to go for a drink? Doesn't have to be quiet but wants to be nice/smart place with no dheads.

Any ideas?

Yep, my idea would be to avoid Wakefield altogether if that's your criteria.

On a more positive note. The Kings Arms at Heath is a nice quaint country pub, not a Wakefield bar.

The Hop or Bull and Fairhouse are real ale pubs but nice and knob head free.

If you're going to the center near Westgate, "The Gate" is usually vacant of knobs. Usually got a few milf's in there too

It is the best of a bad situation though.

The Fox & Hounds (I think) at Newmillerdam is pretty good. Not exactly City centre though.
