I have recently bought a car, the V5 in my name and so on.

but i am now selling the car as i dont like it, and i havent received the new V5 yet.

what is the process in relation to this, can i sell it without the V5? Or would i have to wait until i recieved it.

would this put buyers off, should i make the buyers aware?

Cheers

It should only take a couple of weeks for the new V5 to come through.

There is nothing stopping you advertising (or selling) without a V5 if its in the hands of the DVLA (I am prepared to be corrected on this). It is a different matter if its lost or destroyed.

You could explain when people contact you about the car that its en-route. That wouldnt put any serious buyer off, but the short length of ownership screams "dealer" or "P.O.S" which will make some wary.

Silly point, but why didnt you test the car before buying?

I have sold without the V5 returned from the DVLA before,

I have taken a car in against one I was selling and done it, never caused a problem.
