Not to my knowledge: Sparkbrook is far better and much cheaper. Good Luck.

If it has to be Broad Street then Pushkar or Blue Mango would be worth a look but they are more style over substance kind of places. To be honest Broad Street as a whole is best avoided, it's really not that great of an experience.

If you want a good curry in a city centre area surrounded by bars then you really should head to Maharajas on Hurst Street next to the Hippodrome:

They've been there 40 years and have been in business that long for a reason.

There's plenty of places to go drinking, dancing or to pay bored naked people to gyrate in front of you all around there so similar to Broad Street but a nicer feel and less likelihood of getting your head punched when passing the taxi rank.

And if you fancy trying more than the usual balti/tikka/bhuna combos then try Saffrons in Victoria Square, a couple of minutes walk from the ICC end of Broad Street. They've just opened there and are pretty much the best Indian restaurant in the city:

If you're going there before the 23rd you'll get to walk through the Frankfurt Market on the way and will walk past the open air bar in front of the Council House which is always worth a stop.

As it has been discussed there aren't really any good curry houses on broad street but the best one in the country is a 10 min taxi ride away.

http://www.lasan.co.uk/ in the jewellery quater.

Great british menu and F-word.

Pushkar is fabulous but a bit pricey.

Thanks for the link to Lasan, will try that one next time.

You want to drive or jump in a taxi over to the Jilabi on Coventry Road. It's always packed out (every day of the week), the food is fantastic, the staff are excellent and you get complimentary tea/coffee, sweets, ice cream and liquor.
