Just watched this (will be repeated or on iplayer)

Utterly superb. Loads of info on it coverage interviews the entire story of Group B. it also shows the tragic accidents especially the infamous Portugal crash into the crowd.... So sad - I'd never seen it before and didn't appreciate how many people were hot and how fast he hit them all due to a spectator jumping in the road him at full tilt then having to correct to avoid him but that meant the end result was pretty much unavoidable.

One thing all the drivers of the time say say that was the best era of all no question driving those cars the long stages the power.

Rohl calling Ari V's driving style pretty much on the edge of lunacy

Now look at the cars today!

Why do Lancia not rally at all these days? the 037 and S4 Evo wow so fast smashing stage records by 3 mins!!!

The huge following of rallying at the time (1980's)created car sales which brought more money into rallying. For various reasons that market died. Therefore so did rallying at that level. Essentially a big publicity drive for car manufacturers. Unlikely to return.
