Yes I believe they won't increase, but should see a rise in time much like the famous Countach how ever the Countach's that weren't famous won't rise unlike the Testarossa which will see an increase.

Speak for yourself. For an '80s supercar I found it unusually comfortable and accessible, even acceptable in traffic. Can't really say that of the Countach.

I think its problem is that there are just so many Ferraris for the money that are better ownership prospects. For a decent 'rossa you're looking at £35k (some under-used examples can be found for £25k with a book full of skipped services and perished hoses all round), and for that kind of money, given the running costs you'd be considering and the kind of money the average prospective buyer could stretch to, you'd be better off with an F355.

Also, unlike the Countach it doesn't have rarity on its side. Lamborghini built about 700 Countaches over the course of 18 years. Over little more than ten years, Ferrari built over 2000 Testarossas.

That said, they sold very well in the States and have always been seen as much cooler over there. They're better suited to American roads (and fuel prices) too. I wouldn't be surprised if, if the values are to rocket, it happens in America and that leads the market.

This.
Plus the stories of apocalyptic maintenance costs.
Plus the significant build numbers.

Go and post the question on FerrariChat - threads on TRs often end up badly punch

A mate had one years ago and he said, with the exception of the engine, every aspect of the car was utterly appalling. My guess is no as it's fugly as well but people will still buy a turd with a Ferrari badge.

i agree a testarossa isn't built like a VW golf but its an italian supercar from the 80's so what do you expect. A testarossa is designed to look the part in your garage and that it does well.

The 512TR is hugely better to drive, as is the rare M,.....

How good a car is to drive doesn't really make too much difference in this context.

It undoubtedly plays a part in some cases such as the older 911s, but plenty of the valuable italian stuff is absolute crap by today's standards.

Quite a number of them were made relative to the more valuable ferrari models, they only left production 20ish years ago.

I think they are the best looking car of all time, and far more evocative of the era than the F40; but its one of the true marmite cars when it comes to the styling.

I think they will slowly rise in price.

I too think it is not a great drive (before I get flamed, yes I have driven one!!! ;-)

If I was in a position to buy one I would go for the 512TR which I think looks a lot better than the Testarossa and F512M.

Have you actually driven a Testarossa, Countach and 355?
