Looking for a Tuscan (project)
Discussion
After some years I have decided to get back into the TVR fold. Been looing at a Tamora or a t350 however I have now decided on a little project.
Looking for a good solid Tuscan as a starting point for an LS7 conversion. As the engine gearbox and all related parts will be coming out I am not concerned re mileage etc. However the structure needs to be solid and the car needs to have a well maintained history. It may well be resprayed and retrimmed depending on condition. So can be tatty.
Help appreciated……

JLF, I have a Mk1 Tuscan with extensive history, a bit tatty due to its age but drives very very well. I'm willing to let it go for a good price given that I'm a dad now, its a 3rd car, and just isn't getting used.
However I have no way of contacting you about it... are you interested???

Buy a Vette
Going to look into this as the final decision. Looked at LS3 for Griff and Tamora now. Not going with the Tuscan. I have all the costs, quotes and have spoken with a lot of people.Last round is to look at a C6 Z06. Always liked the car…apart from the interior. The cost will be much the same as the Griff .
Pascal I have followed your engine build for what seems like years, and was really hoping it would work out for you although you did set yourself a very challenging bhp target I hoped you would get in the end exactly what you wanted. Are you continuing with it? Or have you had enough.

George,
You're not wrong when you say it's years... over 5 years and 7 months to be exact, with the only exception being that I had the supercharged engine for a few weeks two years ago... running it in, third gear gave up within two weeks, ultimately leading to a broken gearbox.
As for the hp nr.... It was said that the Typhon had around 630 with a supercharger... that was my goal from the start. As most of you are aware, the supercharger in the Tuscan never got any further than 483 in a driveable configuration...
The story: well... I think it's fair to say I've reached the end of my patience.
Will I miss it...Don't know, I haven't properly driven a TVR in years... Didn't miss my Lotus when I sold it, so I guess not. And there are other things going on than cars in my life for the moment, to which I give a lot more importance...

Hey,
Not sure if you are still looking for a Tuscan but I'm thinking of selling mine. Had it 6 months and never use the thing! I think I have done 600 miles since I bought it.
If you are or anyone is interested drop me an email, sam_parcell@hotmail.com.
It's a 2001 mk1 4.0 with 42k miles. Just spent around £5,000 on it including new tyres and 12k service. It's in good condition apart from needs new carpet and will need another engine rebuild in next 2 years approx. stillon standard suspension which is next on my list if I keep it, it has had a big break conversion at the front.
Happy new year all!
Sam
