You reach a roundabout with 3 exits and want to turn right but the lane is full, do you wait or block the entire roundabout with your pupil driving so that any HGV or basically any large vehicle coming from your right is unable to turn?

This in turn blocks a major A road due to the sequence of the lights on it.

Well this is what I had tonight and i have seen numerous instructors do the same, but you have to remember that the right turn for this instructor had 2 lanes right and left so he blocked the lanes from his right and the filter lane from his left, he should have stayed where he was and allowed free movement of the traffic from all sides and moved when safe to do so.

but I suppose this is what we get from having and exam as opposed to a test, so is this normal practice now to block lanes off to suit yourself?

It has been a long time since I passed so the rules may have changed but I do not see anything about this in the HWC but then that does not specify what is in the new exam.

You don't pull onto roundabout if your exit isn't clear. That's all there is to it really.

You always wait, even if you have to wait ages, you wait.
I'd imagine if they were on the test it'd be a fail.

The place that it happens all the time is less than 1/4 mile from a test station so I bloody hope they are not on a test or they have been deliberately failed by the instructor, so if they take the exam and fail for that reason then that is rubbish and the instructor needs a kick in the gonads.
