Apologies in advance for the rant, i'd like to think as motoring enthusiasts we are quite hot on our driving awareness and standard, but you may know someone who could benefit from this gem of knowledge!

It seems many users of this roundabout are unaware of its road layout. There is a set of traffic lights ON the roundabout (not those on the bridge) which consists of 2 lanes. The right lane is for turning right and straight ahead to motorway slip road. The left lane is STRAIGHT ON ONLY. Every day i use this roundabout and see people have near misses because of other users in the wrong (left) lane cutting across traffic. This evening i had two different people cut me up from the left lane and without indicating! The second was a guy in his late 50's in a micra who had the audacity to force me into the next lane because he thought he was right. It might not sound that bad but it happens ALOT and is an accident waiting to happen, causing huge inconvience only because of people not paying attention. Please dont crash into me when im on my way to work, it'l be very annoying and expensive for me.

Thank you.

Yep. That's happened. Also happend trying to joi. M27 eastbound. Right lane to go straight and car on left decided to turn right. If I hadn't have looked left as i usually do as it narrows an d turned right we would have collided. I was already accelerating. Dumb bh in Clio.

I see it all the time too!
Fact is there are clear white markings on the road telling you witch lane is for what! Another roundabout that is the same is the roundabout at the jury's Inn. So many ignorant drivers out there!

I think the problem with this roundabout are the signs on the slip road as you come off the m27 from junction 2 that read

Use both lanes for southampton

Any traffic in the inside lane of the roundabout, held up by tailback of traffic at the the lights going towards southampton can be overtaken,on the inside by traffic coming from say Bournemouth using the

inside lane of the slip road , which the sign says they are allowed to do, they then follow the roundabout round nearly colliding with now unobstructed traffic proceeding towards the motor way in the correct lane

Happened to me on many occasions when its busy in the mornings

Hope that makes sense
