I have a red 996 Turbo and I'm thinking of having my std 18" rims refurbed gloss black, but I'm not sure
Has anyone got pics of one already done, or your thoughts ?

redbaron has red 996tt with black alloys, there are plenty of pictures of his on this forum especially on the 996tt threads, I think it looks well

...and my thought is that he should do whatever he likes. I'm a bit bored - sat in a hospital waiting room- & don't have anything constructive to add. Sorry. I do think black would work well though.

Biased, but I like black wheels. They work well with guards red.

Only colour I wouldn't have black wheels is if the car was also black.

OP, if you like it, do it.

redbarons car looks the dogs danglies, never really liked red much on a 996t, but with these wheels it looks a WHOLE lot better.

I prefer standard colour wheels to be honest
Quite like Black on Black though if the rim is left silver to brake it up a bit.

I was going to have my wheels done GT Silver on the GT2 i used to own as this looks good on dark coloured 911's

Here is a comparison, standard 996 C4S/Turbo wheel (18in) v Fuchs black (19in), on silver cars not Red so probably not a lot of help.

The reason I asked, was sometimes pix don't give the best impression...I had a Cayman sport with black rims..real life looked great but in pix it looked pants.

But..what the hell....I have bought a set of nasty glittery rims and will get them refurbed gloss black just for the hell of it, then make a decission

I think shiny black wheels can look dreadful. Really max power. But it does depend on its colour.

Matt black can look ok on some cars, but again it depends.

In terms of a red 996 turbo, it's standard for me, definitely. Or maybe gold bbs.

But, it's your car!
